| Reverse description | The reverse depicts a dramatic scene from J.R.R. Tolkien's 'The Lord of the Rings', showing the hobbit characters Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee rendered in high relief against the fiery, volcanic landscape of Mount Doom. The figures are portrayed in a moment of peril, with the volcanic mountain looming in the background amid swirling flame and shadow. The design is executed in antique finish with fine engraved detail. The legend ONE RING TO RULE THEM ALL arcs around the upper field, with the copyright notice at the base. |

Issued under license from Warner Bros. and produced by the Royal Canadian Mint on behalf of Samoa, this piece belongs to a wave of Middle-earth themed legal tender that accelerated sharply after the Amazon series *The Rings of Power* entered production. Samoa has no meaningful numismatic tradition of its own and functions here purely as an issuing authority of convenience, a common arrangement in the collector bullion market.
The selective edge gilding is the technical note worth retaining: applying gold plating only to the rim requires a masking process during electroplating rather than a full-surface application.
