| Reverse description | The reverse bears the historic emblem of the Deposits and Loans Fund as its central device — a stylised griffin depicted passant, with the body, tail, and head of a lion combined with wings, horns, and eagle's talons for its forefeet, standing upon a sheaf of wheat. The year of issue and the mint mark of the Athens Mint appear above the central device. The commemorative legend '100 ΧΡΟΝΙΑ ΤΑΜΕΙΟ ΠΑΡΑΚΑΤΑΘΗΚΩΝ ΚΑΙ ΔΑΝΕΙΩΝ' (100 Years of Deposits and Loans Fund) is inscribed in an arc along the lower periphery, rendered in Greek script. |

Issued to mark the 140th anniversary of the Deposits and Loans Fund — a Greek state institution established in 1828 under Ioannis Kapodistrias, the first governor of independent Greece, primarily to manage public deposits and finance infrastructure during the country's earliest years of statehood. The fund predates the Bank of Greece itself by over a century.
