| Reverse description | A lion passant is depicted in profile moving to the left, rendered in high relief with naturalistic detail including an open mouth and a curled tail raised above its back. The lion stands on a horizontal ground line, with a crescent moon positioned in the upper field above its back. The inscription KAHEL — the name of Sanderval's concession territory in Fouta Djallon — appears in raised Latin capitals below the ground line. The overall composition is bold and heraldic in character. |

| Additional information |
Aimé Olivier de Sanderval was a French industrialist and self-styled adventurer who negotiated directly with the Almamy of Fouta Djallon in the 1880s and 1890s, extracting a series of treaties he hoped would establish a personal colonial concession — essentially a private state within what is now Guinea. French colonial authorities never recognized his claims, and the Imamate itself was brought under formal French protectorate in 1896. This pattern, struck two years before that annexation, was almost certainly produced to bolster Sanderval's legitimacy rather than for any genuine monetary purpose.
