Obverse description Printed in deep red and black on a fine guilloche underprint, the obverse is dominated by a central vignette of two heraldic shields — one bearing a diagonal bar with floral ornaments, the other a rampant lion — united beneath a large spreading oak tree with decorative scrollwork. The denomination numeral '5' appears in large bold type at lower left and right flanking the vignette, with the legend 'GUTSCHEIN ÜBER FÜNF KRONEN' at top and the validity date 'GÜLTIG BIS 30. MAI 1919' across the middle register. A bordered text panel at foot carries the legal tender declaration, the place of issue 'Bodenbach-Tetschen, am 15. November 1919', and three manuscript signatures below the titles of the Bürgermeister of Bodenbach, the Bezirksobmann of Tetschen, and the Bürgermeister of Tetschen.

A central ornamental triangular frame encloses the large stylised numeral '5', below which the denomination 'FÜNF KRONEN' is set in bold Gothic type. Flanking the central text block are two symmetrical lozenge-shaped ornamental devices in black. A multi-line Gothic script text block in the centre details the redemption conditions, specifying validity at savings banks and branches of the Anglo-Österreichischen Bank, the Böhmische Escompte Bank, and the Wiener Bankverein from March 1919 to 31 May 1919, with the note that redemption would not take place after that date.
