| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in orange-brown and black on cream paper, with the issuer's title SVERIGES RIKSBANK set in bold letterpress at the top centre. The denomination FEM (5) appears in large gothic lettering flanked by KRONOR at left and right, with the numeral 5 at centre, all supported by an intricate guilloche underprint. A promise-to-pay inscription in Swedish runs across the middle of the note, referencing the gold coinage law of 30 May 1873, with two manuscript signatures and the date 1879 inscribed below; serial number E,01620 appears twice in the upper portion. |
