The Banco de Honduras — distinct from the later Banco Central de Honduras, which was not established until 1950 — issued this series during a period when several private and semi-official banks still competed for circulation authority in the country. ABNC held the printing contract for Honduran issues throughout most of this period, and the relationship was essentially uninterrupted from the 1910s onward.
The 1941–1948 date range on P#42 reflects a single printed design issued across multiple authorization dates, not a redesign. Notes from the later end of the range are considerably harder to find, suggesting reduced print runs as the centralization of Honduran banking approached.
