| Obverse description | Right-facing bust of King Moshoeshoe II occupying the central field, portrayed wearing a traditional Basotho woven hat adorned with a feather and a decorative necklace with pendant, rendered in high relief with fine sculptural detail. The portrait has a bearded effigy with an authoritative, dignified expression characteristic of commemorative medallic portraiture.
