Obverse description The Mexican national arms occupy the aluminium bronze centre, depicting the heraldic eagle displayed facing left, perched on a prickly pear cactus growing from a rocky islet, clutching a serpent in its beak and talons. The design is rendered in fine relief with detailed feather work on the spread wings. The stainless steel outer ring bears the legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS along the upper arc, flanked by decorative foliate motifs at the sides and base.
