Obverse description Portrait of Joaquín Torres García at right, set against a multicolour guilloche underprint, with the national coat of arms to the left above the watermark reserve area. Issuer's title and denomination are rendered in intaglio lettering to the upper right and lower centre respectively. An embedded security thread runs vertically to the right of centre.

Reverse description The left half of the note carries a full-colour reproduction of Torres García's 1943 constructivist painting 'Pintura Constructiva', its grid-based composition of symbolic figures and geometric forms rendered in earthy tones of black, red, and ochre within a fine guilloche border. The national coat of arms appears in a guilloche vignette to the right above the denomination panel, with the issuer's name in bold intaglio lettering at the top. The printer's imprint appears at the lower right margin.
