Obverse description Black intaglio on cream paper with a geometric lathe-work border. The bank's royal coat of arms vignette occupies the upper centre, flanked by numeral 5 counters in circular guilloche frames at left and right. A promise-to-pay text panel runs across the lower half, with a script 'Five' cartouche at lower left and SPECIMEN overprint in block capitals.
