Obverse description Intaglio portrait of Queen Elizabeth II in three-quarter view at left, wearing a tiara and pearl necklace, set against a fine guilloche underprint in olive and blue. At upper centre, a dark oval cartouche bears the issuer title GOVERNMENT OF JAMAICA flanked by £5 denomination numerals at each corner, with a radiating sunburst vignette to the right incorporating the denomination figure and the Chairman's signature. The date 17th March 1960 appears at lower right, with the printer's imprint THOMAS DE LA RUE & COMPANY LIMITED along the lower margin.

A blank watermark oval is centred on the note, with the denomination legend repeated at lower left and right.
