Obverse description The right portion of the note is occupied by an intaglio portrait of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah wearing a karakul cap, set against a purple-brown guilloche underprint. Nastaliq Urdu inscriptions at centre and lower field carry the bank name, denomination, and the Governor's signature, while the Jinnah watermark ghost is positioned at left. The numeral '5' appears in both Arabic-Indic and Western script at the lower left and lower right corners respectively.

Reverse description The central vignette presents a perspective view of the Khojak (Khajak) railway tunnel entrance set into a rocky mountain cutting, with twin tracks converging toward the portal and surrounding hillside terrain rendered in fine line engraving. The denomination numeral '5' is placed at lower left and right, with 'FIVE RUPEES' in Latin script along the lower margin.
