| Obverse description | Plain ochre-brown paper note of emergency issue type, with all text applied by letterpress within a simple ruled rectangular border. The central text block, printed in black, carries the heading 'Interims-Banknote' at top, followed by the denomination in both numeral and words, the issuing bank name and its Dar es Salaam branch, and the date 1. Juli 1917. Two manuscript signatures appear at the lower centre, accompanied by the word 'Vollmacht' (by proxy), with a prefix letter pair at upper right and a serial number at lower left. |
