Reverse description A facing bust portrait of Tupac Amaru II, the 18th-century Andean revolutionary leader, dominates the central field, depicted wearing a broad-brimmed hat with long straight hair falling to his shoulders and a cravat at the neck. The numeral 5 appears in large relief to the left of the portrait, with the engraver's initial visible to the lower right. The legend TUPAC AMARU arcs along the upper periphery, while CINCO SOLES DE ORO curves along the lower border.
