| Reverse description | The celebrated St. George and the Dragon design by Benedetto Pistrucci depicts a youthful, nude St. George on horseback facing right, his cloak streaming behind him, thrusting a broken lance downward into the coiling dragon beneath the horse's hooves. The knight wears a crested helmet with a distinctive streamer. In the exergue below the ground line, the engraver's name PISTRUCCI and the date 2026 are inscribed. The composition follows Pistrucci's original 1817 design, executed in high relief with fine classical detail. |
