Obverse description The obverse is printed in brown tones and carries the bank name BANK POLSKI at the top centre. To the left, a large ornate numeral '5' rendered in guilloche underprint occupies a circular vignette, while to the right an intaglio portrait of Prince Józef Poniatowski in military uniform is set within a circular frame. Three facsimile signature lines for Prezes Banku, Naczelny Dyrektor, and Skarbnik appear in the centre, accompanied by the date and place of issue reading 'Warszawa, 15 lipca 1924 r.' and a serial number at lower right.

To the left, the Polish white eagle with crown is set within a circular guilloche vignette, while a large ornate numeral '5' in guilloche occupies the right side. A central text panel in Polish declares the note a lawful means of payment, with a further rectangular anti-counterfeiting warning text panel at the bottom.
