The 50,000 Livres denomination was introduced as Lebanon rebuilt its financial system following the end of the civil war — by 2001, inflation had made it a practical note rather than an extreme one, the Lebanese pound having lost the vast majority of its pre-war value against the dollar. G&D's Leipzig plant produced the note with a holographic strip, a security specification that placed it well above what many regional central banks were commissioning at the time.
Pick 82 is the first issue of this denomination, and while the Banque du Liban series of this period is not especially scarce, collector interest tends to focus on the broader postwar reconstruction series as a coherent set rather than individual values.
