| Obverse description | The central field features the coat of arms of Rwanda, depicting a traditional thatched hut flanked by a sorghum plant and a coffee branch, surmounted by a sun and set within an interlaced knot motif at the base. A ribbon beneath the shield bears the national motto in Kinyarwanda: UBUMWE-UMURIMO-GUKUNDA IGIHUGU. | Additional information |
Rwanda's National Bank issued this coin as part of a broader African wildlife bullion program that positioned several small-revenue central banks — Rwanda among them — as licensing partners for European private mints producing collector-market silver. The coins are legal tender in name; none were ever intended to circulate, and Rwanda itself has no cheetah population to speak of.
