Obverse description The Argentine national coat of arms displayed in the centre of the field, consisting of an oval cartouche depicting a handshake beneath a Phrygian cap on a pike, surmounted by a radiant rising sun, and flanked by two laurel branches tied at the base with a ribbon. The legend REPUBLICA ARGENTINA arcs around the upper periphery, with the date inscribed in the exergue below the arms. Two small five-pointed stars appear in the lower field on either side of the date.

Reverse description A left-facing draped bust of Liberty, engraved by Eugène-André Oudiné, wearing a Phrygian cap. The denomination 50 CENTos is inscribed in the lower field, with the legend LIBERTAD arcing around the upper periphery. The fineness designation 9 Dos FINO appears in the lower portion of the field, indicating 0.900 fine silver. The design is framed by a beaded border.
