A classical allegorical female figure, draped and seated, occupies the central vignette against a landscape background, flanked by the denomination numerals "50" in red at upper left and right. The title "REPÚBLICA DE NICARAGUA" arcs across the upper portion in bold lettering, with denomination text "CINCUENTA CENTAVOS" in ornamental cartouches below.
