| Obverse description | The Ecuadorian national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a condor with spread wings perched atop an oval shield containing a coastal scene with a steamship, framed by a fasces and palm branches to either side. The circular legend around the periphery reads the denomination, weight, silver fineness, and mint of issue. The weight designation 'G.2.50' appears at the lower left, while 'PHILA.U.S.A.' at the base indicates the Philadelphia Mint as the place of manufacture. The inscription 'CINCUENTA CENTAVOS' arcs across the upper portion of the coin, with 'LEY 0720' denoting the silver fineness on the right. |
