| Obverse description | The Haitian coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a palm tree surmounted by a Phrygian cap atop a pole, flanked by crossed cannons with cannonballs at the base and palm fronds to either side. The design is rendered in a bold, somewhat rustic style characteristic of early Haitian republican coinage. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE D'HAITI runs along the periphery, and the denomination 50*C* appears at the bottom of the legend. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
