Additional information

Juno Beach was the Canadian sector on 6 June 1944, stretching roughly from Courseulles-sur-Mer to Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer. The 3rd Canadian Infantry Division and 2nd Canadian Armoured Brigade landed there under heavy fire, suffering around 1,200 casualties on the first day — but pushing further inland than any other Allied force that morning. The Solomon Islands' connection to that campaign is nonexistent, which makes this a frankly puzzling issuing choice for a Pacific nation whose own wartime story — Guadalcanal, the Slot, the Coastwatchers — is considerably more local.
