| Obverse description | Central design features a stylised ceremonial pedestal or altar table (hong) surmounted by an open book or scripture, above which radiates a sunburst motif, all surrounding the central round hole. The legend ROYAUME DU LAOS appears along the left arc in Latin script, with the Lao script inscription ພະຣາຊະອານາຈັກລາວ along the right arc; the Lao word ຮັຖທັນະນູນ (Constitution) appears on a band across the altar table. The date 1952 is inscribed at the bottom of the field in Arabic numerals. The overall design reflects the newly established constitutional monarchy of Laos, rendered in a clean, modernist engraving style. |
