The National Liberation Front issued its own currency as a parallel financial instrument within contested territory — part propaganda, part functional economy. This 50 Dong note was prepared but never formally released into circulation, which places it in a narrow category of NLF material that survived outside the destruction cycles that followed reunification in 1975.
Unissued NLF notes are often found in near-pristine condition precisely because they never left storage, but provenance is rarely clean — many surfaced through military souvenir channels or postwar document seizures rather than any formal archive.
