| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of King George I facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and sideburns in the mature second portrait style engraved by Barre. The circumferential Greek legend reads ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟΣ Α! ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ, distributed around the periphery within a beaded border. The engraver's name ΒΑΡΡΕ appears incuse on the truncation, with the date 1876 and the Paris mint mark A positioned in the lower exergual area. |
