| Reverse description | A highly detailed, naturalistic relief of a sheepshead bream (Sargo, Diplodus sargus), the emblematic fish of Cape Verdean waters, is depicted in left profile at centre, its scales, fins, and characteristic vertical body markings rendered with fine engraving. Stylised wavy lines representing water fill the field above and below the fish. The legend FAO CONFERENCIA MUNDIAL DE PESCA curves along the upper periphery, while the dates 1983-84 appear in large numerals at the lower field. The species name SARGO DE CABO VERDE is inscribed in small letters beneath the fish, identifying the subject in the exergual area. |
