| Obverse description | Intaglio-printed in green and brown, the obverse centres on a text panel set against an elaborate guilloche underprint bearing the bank name, promise to pay, and issue date. A standing allegorical female figure in classical robes holding a staff occupies the left margin, while a seated putto resting against a sheaf of wheat appears at the lower right. The denomination numeral 50 is repeated in ornamental cartouches at the top centre and lower right, with the printer's imprint of Bradbury Wilkinson & Co., Londres at the foot. |
