| Obverse description | A large, naturalistically rendered Cedar of Lebanon occupies the central field, its broad layered canopy extending nearly to the inner border. The date 1929 appears in both Western and Arabic numerals flanking the trunk at mid-field. Below the cedar, a rectangular cartouche bears the Arabic legend الجمهوريّة اللبنانيّة. The French legend REPUBLIQUE LIBANAISE is inscribed in two lines beneath the cartouche, separated by a beaded inner border. The entire design is framed by a dentilated outer rim. |

| Reverse description | Two cornucopias cross at the center of the field, their mouths issuing upward and outward, overflowing with fruit and foliage. Clusters of grapes hang prominently from each horn. The Arabic numeral ٥٠ and the Arabic word خمسون قرشا (Fifty Piastres) appear in the upper field above the crossed horns. The denomination 50 PIASTRES is boldly inscribed in two lines in the lower field, with the word ESSAI incuse on the lower right of the reverse field, identifying this piece as a trial strike. A beaded inner border and dentilated outer rim frame the composition. |
