| Obverse description | Portrait vignette of Mykhailo Hrushevskyi — historian, statesman, and first president of the Ukrainian People's Republic — occupies the central field, set against a multicolour guilloche underprint. The denomination numeral and issuer inscription of the National Bank of Ukraine appear in intaglio printing, accompanied by the series title "Історія України" (History of Ukraine). Decorative lettering and ornamental borders frame the composition in the Ukrainian national colour palette. |

| Reverse description | The central vignette presents an intaglio rendering of the Building of the Ukrainian Central Rada in Kyiv, a neoclassical structure surmounted by a dome flying the Ukrainian flag, captioned "Будинок Української Центральної Ради" below the image. The patriotic salutation "СЛАВА УКРАЇНІ! ГЕРОЯМ СЛАВА!" is inscribed in the upper right field in bold Cyrillic, while denomination numerals "50" and the value legend in cursive script appear at upper left and lower right against a light guilloche underprint in violet and teal tones. The date 2024 is printed in the lower centre, and a serial number appears both horizontally below the vignette and vertically along the right margin. |

Issued in 2024 as Ukraine's war with Russia entered its third year, this note is an explicitly political object — the denomination is secondary to the statement. The "Glory to Ukraine" slogan, long predating 2022 but now inseparable from the full-scale invasion, marks this as the first Ukrainian circulating banknote to carry an overtly wartime message rather than simply historical iconography.
The Banknote Printing and Minting Works in Kyiv continued operating throughout the conflict, a logistical and symbolic commitment under genuinely difficult conditions.
