| Obverse description | The national arms of the Lao People's Democratic Republic occupies the central field, depicting a stylised globe overlaid with a road and rice paddies, flanked by sheaves of rice and a forest of trees, with a hammer and sickle surmounted by a five-pointed star at the apex.
