| Additional information |
Turkey's gold kuruş denominations were not struck in 1923 itself — the date refers to the founding year of the Republic, used as a fixed base date on Turkish coinage. The actual year of striking is encoded in the additional numerals that appear alongside it, a dating convention adopted from the Ottoman accession-year system and carried forward into the Republican period. Without knowing the regnal suffix, the true mint year is indeterminate.
The .917 fineness follows the traditional Ottoman misl standard, deliberately retained to maintain continuity with a gold coinage the Anatolian population had trusted for generations.
