| Obverse description | At left, the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Moldova is printed above the abbreviated bank title "BNM"; at centre, an intaglio portrait vignette of Ştefan cel Mare is enclosed within guilloche ornamental borders flanked by two vertical decorative elements, with the inscription "ŞTEFAN CEL MARE" below the portrait and a multicoloured national folk-pattern underprint. The denomination appears in both numerals and words within the design, accompanied by the circular literary legend "PE-UN PICIOR DE PLAI, PE-O GURĂ DE RAI...", the Governor's facsimile signature, and the issue year "2015".
