Obverse description Central field dominated by the national emblem comprising a crescent moon and five-pointed star above an ornate tughra (calligraphic monogram) rendered in elaborate Ottoman-style script. The legend 'Government of Pakistan' encircles the design in Bengali script to the left and Urdu (Naskh) script to the right. The date appears in Western numerals along the lower exergue. The reeded rim frames the entire composition.
