| Obverse description | The obverse features the Imperial Russian double-headed eagle displayed, with wings spread and each head surmounted by a crown, the two outer crowns flanking a central imperial crown above. The eagle bears a shield on its breast and holds the traditional imperial orb and sceptre in its talons. The design is rendered in high relief against a plain field, surrounded by a beaded border. No legend appears on this side; the mint mark 'S' (for St. Petersburg) is positioned beneath the eagle. |
