| Obverse description | Green note with the title BANCO DE BOGOTÁ across the upper centre in bold serif lettering, flanked by oval corner medallions bearing the numeral 50. A central vignette presents two reclining allegorical figures in a classical engraved style. The text of the promise to pay is inscribed in cursive script across the centre, with the denomination CINCUENTA PESOS highlighted, and a red circular overprint of Banco Nacional applied over the text. Series and serial number appear in mirror positions at left and right, with the date Bogotá 1 Mayo de 1873 and three signature lines for directors printed below. |

| Reverse description | Printed in green on plain paper, the reverse carries a large block of text across the upper portion stating that the note circulates provisionally as a Banco Nacional banknote by virtue of Decree No. 614 of 30 October 1899, dated Bogotá 30 de Octubre de 1899. Guilloche rosette ornaments flank the central numeral 50 at left and right. Multiple manuscript signatures appear across the centre, with printed role designations including Ministro del Tesoro and Miembro de la Junta de Emisión. |
