Obverse description The right half of the note is dominated by an intaglio vignette of the Catedral Primada de América, Santa María la Menor — the oldest cathedral in the Americas — rendered in fine engraved linework against an orange and yellow guilloche underprint. The left portion carries the large numeral "50" in dark purple intaglio over a lathe-work background, flanked by the circular seal of the Banco Central de la República Dominicana in gold, with two signature lines below bearing the titles GOBERNADOR DEL BANCO CENTRAL and MINISTRO DE HACIENDA. The denomination CINCUENTA PESOS DOMINICANOS is inscribed in the lower-left quadrant, and the issuing authority's full name runs along the bottom border in bold letterpress.
