| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in dark green and brown on buff paper, with a decorative border of interlocking leaf and dash ornaments framing the entire note. At centre, the coat of arms of Ansbach — a green shield charged with a diagonal band — is rendered within an elaborate cartouche surmounted by a crowned eagle vignette and flanked by foliate scrollwork. The denomination "50 Pfennig" appears in large Gothic letterpress numerals and script to the left and right of the arms, with validity and redemption conditions stated in blackletter text along the lower portion. |
