Bradbury Wilkinson held the National Bank of Egypt contract through the turbulent years spanning the 1952 coup that deposed Farouk and the subsequent push toward nationalization. The bank itself was nationalized in 1960, which neatly brackets this series — P#29 was effectively printed during Egypt's transition from monarchy to republic to socialist state, with the institutional name on the note outlasting the political order that created it.
Four different signature combinations are catalogued for this type, reflecting rapid turnover in senior bank appointments across that decade. El-Emary and El-Refay variants are notably scarcer than the Fekry pairing.
