Reverse description The reverse presents a cartographic vignette of Taal Lake and its volcanic island in Batangas, rendered in pink and light blue tones with the inscription Taal Lake at upper centre. At left, a transparent window incorporates the BSP seal and the Bangsamoro regional emblem as an optically variable security element; three bangus (milkfish) are illustrated at centre-right above the Batangas coastline, with a single pink fish below. The denomination LIMAMPUNG PISO is lettered at lower right, and the word Batangas appears beneath the fish vignette.

Comments

The Philippines moved to polymer banknotes progressively from 2022, with the BSP Security Plant Complex handling domestic production — a point of national distinction, since many central banks still rely on foreign security printers for polymer substrate work. The 50 Piso denomination in this new series targets high-turnover everyday transactions, making polymer's durability particularly relevant at this face value.

The transparent window is integrated into the substrate at manufacture rather than applied as a patch, which places specific demands on the SPC's production capability.
