| Additional information |
The KV-3 never actually entered mass production. A prototype was completed in 1941, but the German invasion in June of that year collapsed Soviet heavy tank development priorities, and the project was abandoned in favor of scaling up proven KV-1 output. The coin commemorates a vehicle that saw no combat and exists in only fragmentary documentation — an unusual choice for a commemorative series otherwise populated by weapons that shaped the war.
