Obverse description Blue and purple intaglio on multicolour underprint. A vignette of the seated statue of King Parakramabahu I (King Parakkrama) occupies the right side of the note, set against an elaborate guilloche background. The issuing authority legends appear in Sinhala, Tamil, and English across the upper and lower registers.

Reverse description Printed in blue on multicolour underprint, the reverse presents a detailed intaglio vignette of the ancient moonstone (sandakada pahana) set at the base of the stone stairway of the Ratnagiri Vatadage at Polonnaruwa, rendered in perspective from the left. A large circular guilloche watermark panel occupies the right half, flanked by decorative side borders with elephant and floral motifs. Trilingual legends in Sinhala, Tamil, and English identify the issuing authority and denomination across the top and bottom registers.
