The P#187A belongs to the "Law of 1930" emission series — a legal fiction maintained by the Central Bank of Turkey for decades, whereby notes issued as late as the 1970s still bore reference to the foundational 1715 Sayılı Kanun. The actual emission date and the statutory date on these notes are entirely different things, which causes persistent misdating in collections.
Turkey's 50 Lira denomination in this period circulated heavily and wore quickly. High-grade survivors are genuinely scarce for that reason alone.
