Obverse description Central field depicts a detailed frontal view of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests at the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, rendered with fine architectural precision showing the triple-eaved circular structure, surrounding balustrades, and ceremonial stairway. The legend 中华人民共和国 (People's Republic of China) curves along the upper border in raised Chinese characters within a wide flat rim. The date 2026 is inscribed in Arabic numerals at the base of the inner circle, below the architectural motif.

Additional information

The 2026 issue continues China's Panda gold series, launched in 1982 as one of the first bullion programs to change its reverse design annually — a deliberate strategy by the People's Bank of China to drive collector demand alongside investment buying. That annual-change policy was briefly interrupted in 2001 and 2002, when identical designs were used across both years, generating significant controversy among collectors and a lasting premium on the 2001-dated pieces.
