Comments

By the time this note was issued in 1993, Yugoslav hyperinflation had already rendered lower denominations functionally worthless. The dinar was losing value faster than the government could print replacements — the National Bank's own printing facility in Belgrade was running presses around the clock, producing denominations that became obsolete within days of release. A 500 million dinar note was not an outlier; it was a logical step in a sequence that would eventually reach hundreds of billions before the 1994 redenomination stripped ten zeros from the currency in a single administrative stroke.

Pick 125 carries only a watermark as its security feature — a measure that offered little protection when the real threat was not counterfeiting but collapse.
