Comments

Kosovo's provisional banknotes of 1999 were issued in the immediate aftermath of NATO intervention, during the brief window between Yugoslav withdrawal and the establishment of UNMIK's administrative authority. The "Banka Provizore e Republikës së Kosovës" had no formal international recognition and no central bank infrastructure behind it — these notes were a political declaration as much as a monetary instrument, and their practical circulation life was extremely short.

The Deutsche Mark displaced them almost immediately, rendering the series obsolete within weeks of issue. Surviving examples in any condition are genuinely uncommon.
