Comments

Novelty Monopoly currency printed to mimic the European Central Bank's 500 euro note — the highest denomination in the real series, withdrawn from circulation by the ECB in 2019 partly over concerns about its use in illicit transactions. The Angers edition places this in a regional series of locally branded Monopoly sets produced for the French market, where city-specific editions became a minor publishing industry through the 2000s and 2010s.

No legal tender status, no issuing authority in any monetary sense. Collector interest is purely hobbyist — notaphilists occasionally catalog these alongside genuine fantasy notes and ersatz issues.
