Burundi's franc has operated under chronic inflationary pressure throughout this period, and the 500-franc denomination has progressively lost practical purchasing power while remaining in active everyday circulation.
The print date of 30 April 1945 listed here is almost certainly a catalog data error — that date predates the Burundian state by nearly two decades.
