| Obverse description | The obverse features the Icelandic coat of arms rendered in a stylized, modernist format, divided into four quadrants by a central cross: upper left displays a stylized bird (the eagle), upper right a dragon with ornamental scrollwork, lower left a frontal bull's head, and lower right a robed giant figure holding a staff — the four traditional guardians (landvættir) of Iceland.
