| Obverse description | The central field features the Zambian coat of arms, depicting a shield with wavy vertical lines symbolising Victoria Falls, flanked by two human supporters — a man to the left and a woman to the right — each standing on a grassy mound. Above the shield, an African fish eagle with outstretched wings is displayed atop crossed pickaxe and hoe. A scroll below the shield bears the national motto 'ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION'. The date 1994 is split to either side of the supporters in the field. The legend 'ZAMBIA' arcs along the upper periphery and the denomination '500 KWACHA' is inscribed along the lower periphery. |
